What is Counselling?

The client and the Counsellor enter a therapeutic relationship, which enables the client to explore themselves; sharing problems, emotions and thoughts they might have been unable to with others, whereby the client wishes to find a resolution to their problems. The Counsellor is trained to maximise the exploration of self, show understanding, empathy and unconditional positive regard towards the client. The combination of self-exploration and the ability to freely express emotions in a non-judgemental and safe atmosphere, should enable the client to work towards a greater understanding of themselves. This in turn assists the client find a resolution to their problem or they enable themselves to make new decisions. Visit my centre today in Oldham. If you don’t reside in Greater Manchester, you can opt for my free 15-minute consultation session via Zoom. I also offer Counselling on feelings on low mood and bereavement.

What is Integrative Counselling?

At MYND Integrative Counselling, I prefer to work in an Integrative and holistic style; I combine person-centred Counselling skills with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)-based interventions. My aim is to assist you with identifying your problem via exploration, whereby you will gain an understanding of the underlying causes and the ability to begin addressing the problem with the use of your newly acquired coping strategies. Contact me today for more details.

What is CBT-based therapy?

The Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) model addresses how your thoughts impact your emotions and behaviour. I will help you identify your thoughts and work through them, breaking down patterns of behaviour that may have been holding you back from achieving your full potential. I will then provide you with a tailored plan that addresses both cognition and behaviour, which may include tasks to practice in between sessions. Relaxation techniques can be taught and used as a coping strategy to assist in managing stress.

Words cannot describe the gratitude I feels towards you for all your help and support, to which I am eternally grateful. I am so lucky to have had you as my Counsellor; thank you Clare for returning me to me.

I started back at my job today after a long time. Things seem to be going well in general, with my anxiety lessening. I am very grateful for being able to share some of my worries and concerns with you; thank you so much for the help and support you have shown me over the past 11 or so weeks.

One of the most important aspects of therapy I found was having someone who you can have a rapport with and who was also a good listener. Clare’s style and manner instantly put me at ease and made me feel I could talk about any subject. Clare has a very flexible approach and allows you to take the session where you feel you need. I found this very helpful. Through utilising the CBT model she was able to help influence the way I approach certain issues and challenge my own thought processes. I always came out of the sessions in a positive frame of mind and proactive about the way I think. Having finished my sessions recently, I can say with certainty that I’m glad I worked with Clare and would have no hesitation recommending her to anyone else.

Thank you so much Clare for all you support and kindness. You have been such a great help and shown me a lot of understanding whilst also being very pragmatic with the issues I’ve presented. Thank you once again.
